Welcome to Adopt A Grandparent

Many of our young children do not have grandparents living close by, some don't have any grandparents at all. The Adopt A Grandparent programme has been developed for families to connect with 'grandfriends' in the community and visa versa.

At its heart, the programme connects seniors in our community with young children, with pre-schools inviting senior volunteers in their area to come to their centre and participate in various supervised activities. They read to them, get involved in creative activities, crafts and play music. Some seniors tell their story about how things were when they were a child, something the children love to hear about.

If you have questions about the programme there’s a FAQ section on this website, alternatively feel free to Contact Us directly.
